offers the work of more than 100 Tasmanian artists and crafts people. We choose each piece personally, not in terms of what is fashionable or what sells best, but according to its ability to reflect something of Tasmania.

Margaret May

Margaret is a Tasmanian artist who has tried a variety of mediums including ceramics, pottery, textile weaving, tapestry and cross stitch pictures as well as jewellery making. In latter years a passion for gardening, along with a little acrylic and watercolour painting mainly featuring flowers, has occupied most of her free time.

Since retiring from full time work Margaret has been unable to resist the wonderful colours and textures of the glass and crystal beads currently available. She has returned to bead work, creating individual designs using fine wire and beads which often show her passion for flowers such as in her flower brooches. Margaret is also making a range of earrings, very fine bead necklaces and lariats.
